MIKE ADAMS
Mike Adams is a landscape painter splitting his time between Frederick, MD and a cottage home deep in the mountainous forests of West Virginia. Aside from spending time hiking and painting in the mountains locally, He built a sleeping quarters in the back of his Toyota Tacoma and wanders around the most remote parts of the country painting en plein air from the gloomy coastlines of New England to the majestic mountains of Montana.
For his tonalist approach to gloomy studio landscapes, he tries to create a scene that is familiar to the viewer, as if they’ve been there before; but can’t quite remember when.
